Iconic...Irreplaceable

There have been many posts and articles circulating the web regarding the tragic death of Steve Jobs. I was not one of the lucky few to have known him personally, but after everything I've read about him over the past several years, he seemed like such an amazing man, intelligent beyond his years and truly passionate, not only for his family but for his drive in life, his career and bringing the world truly top notch products.

So, I just wanted to share this article with you all. I think it's one of the best written I've read yet and something in it just touched me so here it is. Enjoy and to Mr. Steve Jobs: Goodnight, until we meet again...

The Latest

Ok, so I just posted about where I've been...so let's talk about where I'm going! :)

The latest for the site: is the soon to be open and much anticipated online shop as well as a new homepage/landing page. I know what you are thinking...why continue to work on the setup of the site, if I MAY be switching over to Wordpress. Well, the answer's easy! Because this is my "job" and I want to keep readers happy and coming back so everything needs to be "pretty".

The latest of my travels: I have some upcoming trips planned again for Singapore and Malaysia, as well as a little island hopping here within Indonesia's many places to explore. I'm also hoping to get over to Tokyo before the end of Spring so please stay tuned on those trips.

Now, for the major latest! If you are on my LinkedIn, you probably read my status yesterday, but for those that have NO CLUE as to what I'm talking about. One of my new projects has been to work on not ONE, but TWO different book deals. I've had several opportunities come my way and in exploring all my options, I've decided to commit to two of them at the moment. Things have been quite busy and my HardDrive is currently "unavailable", and by that I mean, I dropped it on the floor and it's not working so again, please be patient for time being. There are many changes to be made in both my personal and professional life. I plan to take you all along on the journey with me, so don't worry and stay tuned for more!

Zrrooommm! (From Bali With Love)

Wow! Can anyone else feel that? Feels like whiplash! :)

I have to apologize for being gone SO LONG. I feel like the time has passed by so quickly though as things have been so, so busy here. First, my daughter was sick, then I organized a wedding, here in Bali, and lastly, I will have another little cutie, due next month, to join big sister Akira. SO, needless to say, things have been pretty hectic here.

Honestly, I have come back to this page many times, in the time I've been away, and I haven't been able to focus on it.  I have loads of material and new information to share with you all, but I have grown a bit frustrated with Blogger. I had the opportunity to work with Wordpress last year, when I designed a website for a local business here in Bali, and I find myself dreaming of "the BIG switch". :)

Has anyone else done this who can provide some feedback, opinions, guidance...ANYTHING! I have poured into this blogger site since 2007. I have changed the layout, look, feel, appearance, theme, setup, colors, domain name, logo...everything imaginable. I have tried countless ways and times to revitalize this blog, but no matter the result, it always leaves me feeling empty. Don't get me wrong, I love the latest color scheme and logo I designed, but I'm still scavenging the web for a template to suit this sites's needs and once I do, I feel "the BIG switch" will soon follow. So, please be patient as I undertake some MAJOR reconstruction here.

I promise to be back soon with a new, fresh site and I new, previous little baby as well. Until next time, take care.

Anna

Ring of Fire (From Bali With Love)

Ever heard of the Ring of Fire or the "Pacific Ring of Fire". It is a large area in the Pacific Ocean where there are many earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. Indonesia, as you may know, sits RIGHT ON TOP of the Ring of Fire. Check out this awesome picture I found!
Taken from HERE.
As you can see, the picture of the left shows the Ring of Fire while the picture on the right shows the number of earthquakes that occurred last week, in just 7 days time! Gosh, that's a lot! The article goes on to discuss the most recent 6.5 mag hit in Papua, Indonesia. You can read more on it HERE.

Earthquakes here are so common, almost daily, and to tell you the truth, we usually don't even know there's been an earthquake, or feel any affects of one...Bali sits in the center of Indonesia so I feel it's more sheltered from the quakes than the far west coast of Sumatra and far east coast of Papua. Furthermore, so many airplanes come and go from this tiny island (and I live very close to the airport), it can be hard to distinguish a shake from an airplane taking off. :)

If you are interested in reading more on the Ring of Fire, I suggest checking out Wikipedia's page, as it's full of information, pictures and history! Enjoy!

Beat The Heat (From Bali With Love)

Looking for ways to beat the heat? Living on a tropical island, it gets pretty darn hot, but I also remember that southern South Carolina heat being extremely humid and unbearable at times, as well....
Unplggd offers suggests to beat the heat by hacking your own temporary air conditioner. Click on over and check out their interesting, and low cost ways, to stay cool.
